Global Exchange is an activist human rights organization dedicated to promoting social, economic and environmental justice around the world. Since our founding in 1988, we have successfully increased public awareness of root causes of injustice while building international partnerships and mobilizing for change.
We are tackling some of the most critical issues of our time: from the War in Iraq to oil consumption and global climate change, from the exploitation of the global economy to the creation of the local green economy. Our campaigns inspire our members to resist injustice, envision alternatives, and take action.
Whether it is US companies such as Nike abusing the women who make its shoes, the US government fueling an illegal, unjustified, murderous war in Iraq, or the World Trade Organization undercutting consumer and environmental protections, Global Exchange offers itself as a partner for peace and social justice.
Acting in alliance with partner organizations, our local and national campaigns (listed below) play a critical role in building strong mass movements for global change.
- Fair Trade
- Freedom from Oil
- Iraq: Bringing the Truth Home
- Iran: Citizens for Peace
- Local Green Economy
- Mexico, Trade & Migration
